Coastal Scents Haul

So I got this order in the mail earlier this week. I ordered all of the color correctors, the new bright eyed as well as an eyeliner brush.

The color correctors came housed in a little zippered pouch for handy keeping. I didnt really need the entire set, but since I was going to order 4 out of the 6, I decided to get it since it was only like $3 more. I wanted the black, white and yellow to mix into my foundations to get the perfect shade. I was hoping I could mix the green with my moisturizer to sort of remove a bit of redness from my skin. Sadly, that didnt work like I was hoping.

I have been using the white all week to mix into my concealer since its a bit dark. It has worked very well for that, but since my foundation is a perfect match, I haven’t had to be too much of a chemist yet. I have high hopes for this product however.

Next up is Bright Eyed, CS’s new eye brightener. I was hoping this would be similar to YSL touchè eclat. While I dont think its an exact dupe (and I havent used the YSL in years), I do think it works wonderfully well. However, in all fairness, I dont have dark circles to deal with. I use this after my eye makeup is done to brighten the area and remove any possible fallout.

And last but not least is the eyeliner brush. I have only used this a couple times, but so far its been great. Its very small, so it works well with my small eyes.

Overall, I’m very happy with this haul. I think I will use everything pretty regularly and the Bright Eyed may be my new HG undereye concealer.

Silk Naturals Kisser Slickers Swatches and Mini Review

Hi everyone. Since Silk Naturals is one of my favorite online retailers and I am madly in love with their lippies, I thought I would swatch some mine. This isnt my whole stash (and I have an order coming!), but this is all of the Kisser Slickers, which is one particular type.

This particular product is to me a cross between a lipstick and a balm, but its more than a tinted lip balm. Some of the colors have amazing payoff, while others are very sheer. I LOVE the way they feel on my lips.

left to right: Soft, Rare Berry, Peachy Keen, Gleaming, Gold Blush, Bloom, Berry Nice

My favorite is Soft, which you can probably tell because the label is all worn away. I also really like Rare Berry. Gold Blush is my least favorite. It feels a bit gritty on my lips, while the others are nice and smooth. These are really some of my favorite lippies, and are slowly crowding all the glosses and whatnot out of my makeup stash!

NOTD – Sinful Colors Amethyst

This is from a few days ago. I rarely wear anything other than beige and nude, so this color was a pretty huge thing for me. I used Sinful Colors in Amethyst with Orly Shine On Crazy Diamond on top for sparkle.

The thing I really liked about this polish was that I got a nice, opaque finish with just one coat. For the most part, it went on smoothly. The color was a really rich purple, true to the color in the bottle. It also dried very quickly, which is always a plus.

Sadly, I think the cons outweigh the pros with this one. Even with a basecoat and topcoat, this started chipping badly the next day. And I had painted my nails in the evening around 8:30. I would say it didnt even last a full 24 hours before I had to remove or touch up. And even though it went on nice and opaque, if I didnt move quickly, it did get rather goopy on my nails.

Overall, I would say this is a good budget pick, particularly if you like to change your polish a lot. I have a few of these and find the staying power is rather hit or miss. This one was a miss for me, but thats probably due to the bright color, which I dont generally choose. Sinful Colors has a really large color selection and are easily available at many locations (I get mine from Walgreens). If you dont mind touching up regularly, then I would say go ahead and give Amethyst a go. For me, I probably will just use it on my toes, since I dont have the time to constantly change my polish or worry about touch ups.

An Introduction

Welcome to OURglamour. I just wanted to let you know a little about myself. I am your just your average girl living in this extraordinary world. I’m 27 years old and married to a wonderful man. We have 2 furbabies (I’ll try and get some pictures up, but unfortunately my laptop is at Best Buy, so it’ll have to wait a week), Dash and Buttons, who I love like children. I, like most beauty bloggers, am absolutely obsessed with makeup, skincare and haircare. I hope to start reviewing and featuring some of my HG’s on the site very soon. I’m currently in the military, and have been for the last 4 1/2 years, but I am getting ready to get out this December and I am VERY excited. After almost 5 years of wearing neutral colors and my hair pulled back into a bun, I’m pretty much terrified of color on my face, but thats something I’m trying to work on. I think that gives you at least a little background on who I am and why I’m here. I hope you continue to visit my blog and enjoy what you find here!

Welcome!

Hello everyone. Welcome to my blog, OURglamour. My goal is for OURglamour to become a place for all my thoughts on things glam, hot, new, now, tried, and true.

I plan to discuss everything that goes hand in hand with beauty, from losing weight (no, fad diets ARE’NT healthY) to makeup hauls and reviews. Everything that goes into make you who you are. Once I figure out my lighting I will start doing makeup looks and possibly even tutorials. No subject will be taboo and there will be no holding back.
